Christa Valdez

2nd GRADE TEACHER & HANDWORK

Christa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Prescott College, Waldorf Certification through Antioch University New England (with an emphasis on Early Childhood and Elementary Education), and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Teacher Leadership from Concordia University. She currently holds Teacher License in Colorado and New Mexico.

Since 2010, Christa has been a Waldorf class teacher in both private and public Waldorf schools and a lead kindergarten teacher for summer camps at Denver Waldorf School and Santa Fe Waldorf School. Over the years, she has taken on various leadership roles, including mentoring, offering parent workshops, conducting teacher training, and contributing to the founding of a Waldorf charter school. In fall 2021, she launched The Lilac School (PEA) in Denver, bringing together a small group of children in her home. Currently pursuing her Administrative License in New Mexico, Christa is thrilled to be joining the Living Oaks Community.

Christa is the proud mother of a high school senior and a first grader. She treasures the autumn season, photography, painting, gardening, handwork, African dance classes, theatrical plays, and listening to the acequia. Her favorite aspect of being a Waldorf teacher is co-creating an inspiring and enriching learning experience with her students every day.
